Meet Me Monday: Leadership
John Donahoe once said, "Leadership is a journey, not a destination. It is a marathon, not a sprint. It is a process, not an outcome."
I've had many opportunities to demonstrate my natural leadership abilities at home, work, church, and in the community. But as Donahoe illustrates, remaining a credible leader is a process that requires a commitment; a life long journey. As your councilman, I will continue the leadership process by being a voice for our community.
I invested in my own leadership skills by participating in Leadership Mansfield. As a member of Class 9, the best class, I was reminded the importance of leadership and teamwork. We met key leaders in the community within silos such as education, health care, community service, commercial, and of course City of Mansfield. I've made impactful friends and life long memories of my time with Leadership Mansfield; and I'm a better leader because of it.
"To remain a credible leader, I must always work first, hardest, and longest on changing myself. This is neither easy nor natural, but it is essential." ~ John C. Maxwell
